Welcome to my Papaya Juice Recipe post guys!
After feeling super lethargic this week, I had a craving for some vitamin D and hit of sunshine. My mind took me back to a particular vacation I took with a few summers ago where I had raw papaya juice every morning for breakfast. I felt so good on holiday and even dropped 7 lbs! I had to learn about this magical fruit and even asked the chef for the recipe at the end of my stay. I’m glad I did because there seem to be so many papaya juice drink recipes out there and wouldn’t know where to start!
Anyway, I’ve shared my Mexican Papaya juice recipe below for you to enjoy. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below or if you have questions.
Raw papaya juice recipe
Originally, I found the quickest and simplest way to get the goodness of the super fruit into my body was by simply juicing it and taking a shot of it. I made a big batch of it and put it in the refrigerator with a whole load of ice.

Ingredients
- ½ an average sized papaya
- 4 teaspoons of lime juice
- 2 teaspoons of honey/date syrup (optional)
Directions
- Peel and deseed the fruit *
- Dice it into chunks.
- Put it through your blender.
- Add the lime juice and natural sweetener (if using) and stir through
- Enjoy!
* Todd’s Top Tip – Choose papaya which has yellow-orange skin and sweet aroma when following this papaya juice recipe.
Thankfully for me, I have this Geenstar Juicer which can handle a whole Papaya, including the skin, seeds and leaves. If you’re doing it make sure you have a powerful juicer that can handle all that fiber CHECK LATEST PRICE HERE

Top 4 Papaya Juice Recipe Benefits
There are a whole heap of benefits of consuming papaya on a regular basis. I’ve compiled a list of my top 5 benefits.
1. Full of nutrients
The Textbook of Nutritional Medicine says Papayas are rich sources of antioxidants such as vitamin C. They good sources of folic acid (so great for expecting mothers and babies), These are also chocked full of vitamin K, potassium, magnesium and calcium. Also, papaya like pineapple, contains papain, a digestive enzyme that aids the break down process of protein into amino acids.

2. Improves Digestion
Papaya has a high water content (which makes it excellent for juicing) and this can help improve digestion by reducing bloating and easing constipation. It also contains 2.7 g dietary fiber, or 10 percent of your daily value in this fruit so it can encourage regular bowel activity, which in turn may help lower the risk of colon cancer.
3. Aid in Lowering Blood Sugar
If you have type 2 diabetes and are searching for ways to help lower your A1C, papaya may help you. Some studies have found that papaya has a hypoglycemic effect on the body which means it will lower your blood glucose levels.
4. Improve complexion
In Mexico I was told that eating a papaya daily may make you look 5 years younger than you are. Papaya is rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin E and antioxidants like beta-carotene which helps prevent your skin from free radical damage keeping wrinkles and may slow the signs of ageing.
I won’t bore you with all the ancient history behind this crazy cool fruit but it does make for some fascinating reading. If you fancy reading more about it click here. http://www.papayagold.co.uk/history/
